“The Nagoya University International Student Support Association (Ryugakusei Koenkai),” was set up in November 1985 to support the “Nagoya University Foreign Student Association (NUFSA)”. From then, it has been aiding international students with their daily life, and providing a support service. This service takes the form of a short term loan service, financial support for sickness, responding to unexpected accidents, as well as financial support towards the teaching of the international students. Since November 2000 the Joint Surety Service for Residential Lease was established. It gives guidance on reducing everyday procedures and alleviating the psychological burdens of international students and their advisors.
